About the role

christine's is an all-organic microbakery with a mission to make organically sourced cookies and pastries, sharing our love for local food producers and the planet. We also sell artisanal home wares in our retail space, sourced from local makers and friends of christine's that share similar values of sustainability.

As a baker at christine’s, you’ll be part of the core team producing our cookies and viennoiserie while supporting daily operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who cares deeply about precision, consistency, and working efficiently as part of a small, growing team.

We’re looking for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and communicative - someone who takes pride in doing things right and shows up ready to work.

Responsibilities

Production baking

  • Mix, shape, and bake cookies and viennoiserie with consistency and care
  • Follow recipes, processes, and production schedules with precision
  • Maintain high standards for product quality, appearance, and taste
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, tools, and equipment
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene standards

Preparation and organization

  • Accurately measure and prepare ingredients
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and efficient throughout shifts
  • Support overall kitchen flow and production timelines

Order fulfillment and operations

  • Pack and prepare customer orders and shipments
  • Assist with deliveries as needed
  • Support retail operations during open hours, including customer interaction

Qualifications

  • Able to work 40 hours/week and lift 50+ pounds
  • Prior culinary or baking experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Clear communication and reliability in a team setting
  • Flexibility and willingness to grow with an evolving small business

Shifts needed

  • Full-time; morning and weekend availability required (Wednesdays - Sundays). Most mornings require an early start at 5 AM.

Compensation

  • Starting pay is at $20/hour for non-experienced bakers and $22/hour for experienced bakers, with an additional $2-4/hour from tips
